Ina Garten is a well-known American cookery book author and Emmy award-winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 and has aired up to 2020 in 27 seasons. Ina began her career by working in the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and other policy papers. Her first impression was that her job to be intellectually stimulating, however she soon lost interest, and bought a small food specialty store named Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making the business extremely profitable prior to selling it and grabbing a pen and writing her first book. After that, several books were released and she also wrote columns for magazines. Meanwhile, her Food Network show was also an enormous success. Her range of items spans from cooking equipment, to food items as well as storage containers. Ina she has not attended any cookery schools or had a job in a restaurant. She has a complete self-taught. She is well-known for her unpretentious style of entertainment as well as her simple cooking.
